W. Bryan Hubbard

Bryan was raised in the coalfields of Virginia and is the proud grandson of two grade-school educated coal miners.  He received his bachelor’s degree from George Mason University in 1997,  and his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2000.  He practiced workers’ compensation law in Kentucky for sixteen years, representing Walmart, Tyson Foods, and Tennessee Valley Authority exclusively state-wide.  From 2016 until 2020 he served as Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Income Support, leading the Commonwealth’s Social Security Disability and Child Support Enforcement programs.  In 2020, he was named Executive Director of the Attorney General’s Office of Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control, later serving concurrently as its Special Counsel and the first Chairman and Executive Director of the Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission.  He has also served on the Kentucky Judicial Commission on Mental Health, the Kentucky Child Support Guidelines Commission, Mine Safety Review Board, and the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy’s Recovery Ready Communities Advisory Council.

In December 2023, Bryan worked with the REID Foundation as the creator and Executive Director of the American Ibogaine Initiative.  Since June 1, 2025,  Bryan has served as CEO of Americans For Ibogaine, a 501 (c) (3) established by former Texas Governor Rick Perry for the purpose of advancing public understanding and responsible medical access to ibogaine to help addiction, trauma, co-occurring mental health conditions, and neurodegenerative disorders.
